New Museum > Background > School competition 2009
In the autumn of 2009 more than 280 children from a total of 35 schools sent in proposals to the school competition. There were essays, drawings, books with illustrations, models, design suggestions and much more from schools across the country.
The many proposals were characterized by a great imagination. At the same time they had been working seriously with what a natural history museum is and what it should be. A large amount of energy had been put into the design of the many projects and it was a pleasure for the jury to review the many good proposals.
Watch a video about the school competition below.
The winning projects from the school competition were exhibited together with the results from the ideas competition from November 10 – December 18 2009. Both have been a great inspiration prior to the project competition, which is launched in November 2011.
